Melissa Sikes, FNP-C—Nurse Practitioner

Alexiou Hearing & Sinus Center would like to welcome to our team, Melissa Sikes, FNP-C. Melissa will be specializing in dermatologic oncology (skin cancer evaluation, diagnosis and treatment) and will be welcoming new patients while assisting Dr. Michael Alexiou in taking care of our existing patients. The team at AHSC are thrilled to work with a skilled Nurse Practitioner.

Melissa completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Eastern Mennonite University in 2008 and her Master of Science in Nursing in 2014 at the University of Virginia. She has been credentialed through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners since 2014. Melissa started her nursing career as an operating room nurse at Sentara RMH assisting many physicians including Dr. Alexiou. While working part time at the Eastern Mennonite University Health Center and volunteering at the Suitcase Clinic in downtown Harrisonburg, Melissa was employed full time as the Bariatric Clinical Navigator at Sentara RMH.

Melissa is a transplant to the valley, moving here when she was 9 years old. She is a graduate of Harrisonburg High School and is happy to have her own roots here, as she recently purchased her childhood home. She has an 11-year-old daughter, Marin, who is involved in dance and golf. Melissa enjoys spending her free time going on adventures with Marin, traveling and being outdoors with friends and family.
